Caitlin is from Willow Springs, IL. You may have seen her as "The Singer" in The Caucasian Chalk Circle, "Titania" in NIU's Opera The Fairy Queen, "Leading Lady" in Six Characters in Search of an Author, or "Dorcas" in The Winter's Tale. This year, she will be "Louise" in The Underpants and in In Progress, an original movement-theatre production developed by Christie and herself. She is also in NIU's Honors program. After graduation, she wants to work as an actor in Chicago, create original theatre productions, and use theatre as a tool to help people. Someday, she would like to do devised theatre therapy with children.
Christie's love of theatre has brought her all over the world: the Actor's Movement Studio in NYC, Moscow Art Theatre School in Russia, and Far Corners Theatre in Costa Rica. She has also trained extensively with Loyd Williamson in upstate New York. An honors student at NIU, she will be "Lysistrata" in Lysistrata this fall, and in In Progress, an original piece exploring poetry and movement, with classmate Caitlin. After graduation, Christie plans to act in Chicago. One of her goals is to perform original works for young audiences that will introduce them to classic literature.
Alex has played roles such as "Antigonus" from The Winter's Tale, "Dr. Thomas Williams" in The Ascent of F6, and "Puckeridge" in The Real Inspector Hound. Alex will be "Theo" in The Underpants this upcoming fall. He studied abroad in Moscow for 3 months--perfecting his physical technique, his depth of character understanding, and gaining a greater respect for his art. Alex truly appreciates everything that the instructors at NIU have taught him both about his art and himself as a person. Not wanting to limit himself, he is enthusiastic about starting work anywhere in his field and hopes to have a varied and rich life.
Kaitlyn ventured from Boca Raton, FL three years ago to further her acting training at the fine NIU. She has been in Burning Times as “Spanky,” Los Angeles is Underwater as “Nina,” Six Characters In Search of an Author as “Young Girl,” Winter’s Tale as “Mopsa," and in the student film, In Motion. This fall, she will be “Myrrhine” in Lysistrata. She hopes to graduate in May with a BFA in acting and an honors diploma. After graduation, she plans to pursue her acting career in film and television. Her other passion is traveling. Her goal is to have a successful career, live life to the fullest, and see the world along the way.
Carl Furlough Jr.
Upon graduation Carl plans to star his career as an film actor in either Chicago or Atlanta. Carl strives to star in action/adventure films due to his athletic background in sports and fight training. Although, Carl loves acting music and poetry was his first love and wants to become a music producer while owning his own record label.
John was born and raised in the Chicagoland area. His previous credits include: "Norbert Slaughter" in Burning Times and "Time" in The Winters Tale at NIU and "Trigorin" in The Seagull at the Moscow Art Theatre School. John is excited to graduate and pursue his career.
Julie's previous NIU credits include The Winter’s Tale, Six Characters in Search of an Author, The Real Inspector Hound, and the student-directed showcase Exit Lines. Julie can be seen next February as Gertrude in The Underpants. Julie has studied at The Second City Training Center in Chicago and also the Moscow Art Theater School. Over the summer, Julie spent her time interning at O’Connor Casting Company located in Chicago.
Most recently, Meagan appeared in Burning Times as "Snoozy Slaughter." Other favorite roles at NIU include "Stage Manager" in Six Characters in Search of an Author and "Donalbain/Caithness" in Macbeth. She will also appear as "Calonice" in Lysistrata this fall. Spending a semester at the renowned Moscow Art Theatre School in Russia, Meagan gained a new depth of appreciation for the art she has chosen to make a life from. She hopes to work mainly in film and television, unless Shakespeare comes calling. She also is still hunting for a new name.
Hailing from Naperville, IL, Lee has performed as "Cleomenes" in The Winter's Tale, and "Sailor Jack/Schultz" in Not About Nightingales. This upcoming fall, he will be "The Magistrate" in Lysistrata. Upon graduating from NIU, Lee hopes to add a few more exotic locales to his travels as he pursues his career in acting. He plans to focus his post graduation efforts on breaking into the movie and television industry, but will allow his instincts to set the path. Lee's experiences in college have not only sharpened his skills as an actor, but have taught him to see life as the ultimate cross-fit workout.
Samantha comes to Illinois after spending years tending to goats, chickens, horses, vegetables, flowers, and cats, growing up on a farm in New York. She appeared at NIU as "Third Witch" in Macbeth, "Young Actress" in Six Characters in Search Of an Author, and "Cook" in The Caucasian Chalk Circle. This fall, she will play "Lampito" in Lysistrata. She studied at the Actors Movement Studio Conservatory with Loyd Williamson and at the Moscow Art Theatre School. Samantha believes that theatre is the highest form of storytelling, and is a joyful way of exploring and understanding what it means to be human. She hopes to use acting to share joy and learning with audiences and fellow artists.
Adam Zaininger was born and raised in Warrenville, IL. He has also had the pleasure of sharing the stage with unbelievably talented actors. Some of his past roles include, “Simon” from Caucasian Chalk Circle, “Shapiro” from Not About Nightingales, “Konstantin” from The Seagull (During his training at the MXAT), “Son” from Six Characters in Search of an Author, “Archidamus” from The Winter’s Tale, and “Priest” from Twelfth Night. He is looking forward to finishing his final year in the program all the while anxious to begin his exciting career as an artist.
